Episode 211 is the farewell episode for It's No Secret with Dr T., and I thought I would bring back my good friend, previous guest and long-term supporter of the podcast Jeff Peterson to help my say goodbye.  Jeff Peterson is the owner of Geneva Supply and was a guest on the show back on Episode 017 with Bill Davis, titled Drive Your Business .  In addition to bidding farewell, I did manage to draw some more business wisdom from Jeff before we hung up the microphone.  Today we discuss: Working with Amazon Helping manufacturers with Content & Brand Management  What takes to get noticed Why entrepreneurship is bullshit Intrapreneurship - the c reative entrepreneurial spirit within an organisation Why you should not ask family and friends what they think of your ideas, just remember the bad singers you've seen on American Idol, someone told them they were good at singing.  Why you should have a business card. "When you're living in a world wher...

Justin Blake is the owner of Justin Blake Media , and on this episode, we discuss marketing and what you should be doing now and post COVID-19. 208 - RAW Worldwide African Safaris with Shane Ross

Raw Worldwide African Safaris is owned and operated by Shane Ross, a Cairns local who is passionate about sharing the wildlife wonders of Africa. As Shane explains, it's virtually impossible to tell what you'll feel seeing 50,000 Wilderbeast during the Great Migration or hearing a Lion roaring in the distance while you sleep safely in your tent. (Far better experience than visiting a zoo) Africa is a land of real magic - it exists in every living thing, around every corner you turn, and occupies even the most distant horizons. Africa abounds with mystical creatures, enchanted forests, and arguably the richest cultural diversity of any continent worldwide, and is still a land of ample opportunity - where authentically wild adventures and exploration are easily sought. Believe me, after you listen to this episode you'll want to book a trip immediately, and if you do feel that way, visit www.raw-worldwide.com asap. Don't Be Like Joe Exotic (Tiger King) in Business

Image
Unless you've been living under a rock you would have to have seen the latest docuseries on Netflix, Tiger King, with Joe Exotic. After finishing the series I thought there was a major business lesson to be learnt that was worth sharing. In sport, we're told not to take our eyes off the ball and there is a good reason for this, you'll drop the ball. In business, it's no different, you must stay focused on what is important and not get distracted. Joe Exotic was a very interesting character, and he stuffed up big time. Instead of focusing on his own zoo, he focused his attention and hatred towards an animal activist Carole Baskin. It was this unhealthy obsession that cost him everything and to be honest I've seen podiatrist do this as well. In Cairns, I had a similar experience with a podiatry competitor who spent far too much time on me and not enough on his own business. In the end, I prospered and he did not. (Watch the video and it will make a lot more ...

Why wait until you have thousands of listeners to try and monetise your podcast with sponsors, why not develop your product and be your the show sponsor.  On this episode we discuss: How she set up a collaboration between a local whiskey distiller and coffee roaster. Brilliant. Jumping in with both feet when you have an idea Knowing your target market Developing the Whisky Coffee brand - This roast is hotter than your mom Why start a podcast?
