INS024 - Brand Personality & ACDC with Dr. Jesse Green

Dr Jesse Green was my guest on  Episode #12: The Recovery Paradox  and after we concluded that particular episode we kept talking and eventually moved onto the subject of branding and his favourite band ACDC and what he believes made ACDC one of the biggest bands in the world.  I asked Jesse if he minded if I pushed record and fortunately he said yes because we have captured some absolute gems in regards to branding, brand personality, living up to your brand and how he uses ACDC in his business to connect with his clients.  Authenticity is Critical Branding, when done right, creates an emotional response whenever you see that brand, which is why you must always tell the truth.  If your brand tells the truth you never have to think about your story.  Living Up to The Image Whatever image your brand puts out to the world it has to be one that you can easily live up to.  Never make out that you're perfect when you're not. Be honest about your succ...

Entrepreneur Energy Most entrepreneurs have their minds switched on at all times and a lot of people wonder where they get their energy from? Here’s the answer: If you’re passionate about what you’re doing you can go all day. Many small business owners get tired because they’re doing something they don’t really like and there’s no passion. Entrepreneurs don’t get tired because they’re doing things that are interesting and ...

FMF #11 - The Blowfly Principle: Identifying Bad Clients

I don’t care what type of business you have, or how good your customer service is, you’re going to eventually have a few difficult clients, the ones that make you want to stay in bed on a Monday morning and not go to work.  And worst of all, they will think their behaviour is perfectly normal and acceptable, not realising they're complete tools. Bad Client Traits You need to learn that most difficult clients – actually let’s call them what they are, “bad clients” – exhibit the same traits. See if any of the following sound familiar to you: They complain about your prices They’re rude and stubborn They’re always requesting discounts If you give them an account they always pay late You know the clients I’m talking about. We’ve all had them and your business will continue to have them, unless you limit your exposure to them. Indentify Blowflies Early   You need to identify them early and get rid of them as soon as possible. Getting rid of bad clients frees up yo...

There's something about touching it that brings more commitment and this is something a screen cannot do.  Facebook Invitations When you're invited to an event on Facebook there are twenty-five others things happening on the screen competing f...

FMF - Seven Marketing Myths

In my book, It’s No Secret There’s Money in Small Business I touch on seven marketing myths and the reason I wanted to talk on this subject was because many small business owners still believe these myths are true and it’s holding them back from being successful.  Myth 1: If I do marketing I’ll be promoting my competitor Myth 2: Marketing is just advertising isn’t it? Myth 3: Marketing is unprofessional Myth 4: Marketing is expensive Myth 5: Marketing attracts bad clients Myth 6: Marketing takes a lot of time Myth 7: I need to pay big dollars to get a business coach If you have any questions, or you have additional marketing myths you’d like to share please email them to me at tf@tysonfranklin.com If you have purchased and read my book I'd like to thank you. If you're sitting on the fence and you're not sure if this book is for you, you can download the first 16 pages FREE .  And just before you go I'd like to make you aware of my There's Money in...

INS021 - Micro-Story Telling with Matt Hanham

Matt Hanham is a Perth based entrepreneur, investor and consultant with a passion for small business, technology and wealth building. He is the director of  Visible  and host of  #Amplify Your Business  podcast. He also has one dirty little secret that he likes to keep hidden; he’s also an accountant, but lets not tell anyone. Seriously though, Matt’s brief accountancy career was really just one building block in his business success. He has a creative mind and he likes using financial reports to spark his creativity, but he does not like creating the actual financial reports himself. Illness At an early age he got very sick and hit rock bottom and this is what drove him to want to have his own business. He looked at buying an existing business but when he looked at the sale price, $300K, he didn’t have the money, but he knew he wasn’t afraid to do the work, so he started his own similar business from scratch. “When you start something from scratch you start ...

FMF - Was Week One A Hit or Miss?

Well, we’ve made it to the end of week one, 2018 and by now I would imagine you’ve probably seen at least fifty or so post about making New Years resolutions and setting goals. If you haven’t, you’ve either been incarcerated the past week or lucky enough to be on a cruise ship with no Internet. So is this podcast about setting goals for 2018? No it’s not. It’s about reflecting on the past week and seeing how you feel about it. Would you say your first week back at work was a hit or a miss, or maybe it was somewhere in between? I would honestly say my week was definitely somewhere in between. So how did you do? Did you achieve everything you wanted to get done, or did you achieve very little, because busyness got in the way? You need to answer this question. I heard two quotes this week that I think are worth repeating. The first one was from the  Born to Write  podcast with guest Pat Flynn and it wasn’t exactly a quote, he was making reference to a book titled,  W...
