INS058 - Making The Impossible Possible (In Business) with Victoria Mavis



Victoria Mavis lives in Munich, Germany and is a professional Magician, speaker, author and small business coach. Using her vast skills of close up magic, large stage performances, illusions and mentalism, she can help small business owners see the unseen and open their minds to new opportunities. 

Her Early Career

Victoria fell in love with magic at the age of four and did her first stage performance, for adults at the age of seven, and she has gone on to become one of the greatest female magicians in the world and is a member of the Magic Circle. 

Skill Set

When you're doing close up magic, stage shows, mentalism and illusions you need a different skill set to be able to perform each properly. Expertise in one area of magic does not automatically transfer to another. 
Victoria's daily job is to make the impossible possible. She must be aware and present in-the-moment, and be the master of distraction.  

Business Coaching

As a business coach, she helps people get rid of distractions because as a magician she knows what it takes to distract someone. She does not want to divulge magician secrets, but she can use them to help her clients with reverse engineering psychology, mind-power and manifestation.

KISS Principle

We've all heard the term, keep it simple stupid, and this applies to magic and business coaching. Simplicity gives you clarity and clarity is power. 

How Magic Works

We only see what we know. Meaning we can't see what we don't know, which is why magic works.
In magic, there are contraptions we've never heard of or knew existed. Therefore we're not looking for them. But as soon as you know they exist, your mind opens and starts looking for them. 

Learning Works The Same Way

As soon as you learn something new in business, you will see new opportunities. Therefore to SEE new things you must LEARN new things. Learning broadens your skill set in business. 

Mental Capacity

Steve Jobs wore the same clothes and ate the same meal every day to save his mental capacity for things that mattered. Keeping life simple gave him a clear focus. 
There are times when you must deep dive into what you do, and when the time is right you need to outsource to protect your mental capacity, BUT there are some things you cannot outsource. For example, only the magician can go on stage. 

Exchange Thoughts

You need to broaden your knowledge by talking with people outside of your profession. If you stay in the same group, you will have the same conversations, and this will limit your growth. 
Collecting knowledge and ideas is not real power. The power and magic will come when you start to implement the ideas and take action.

Podcasting 

There are so many benefits to podcasting that a lot of business people do not see, and it's not just about money. Podcasting opens doors you didn't know needed opening, and it's a great way to build connections with people all over the world.  
At the moment there are no rules when it comes to podcasting. Therefore you can set the length of the show, who will be on the show and also the show content. 
And with podcasting, you can either CREATE, CONSUME or be a GUEST to build your personal profile.  

Monday Morning Tip

Sit down for 10-minutes with a pen and paper and start journaling all the ideas in your head, and it doesn't need to make sense. The idea is to clear your mind so it is open for new information and new ideas. Be prepared to experience the magic.
